Weekend before last, I participated in the Central Florida Food Blogger Bake Sale.  This event was part of the National Food Blogger Bake Sale organized by What’s Gaby Cooking and Bloggers Without Borders.  Locally, we raised over $1400 to benefit Share Our Strength’s fight to end childhood hunger.  I’m anxiously waiting to hear what food bloggers across the country all raised together.

It was a fun day and we enjoyed seeing everyone who stopped by to purchase goodies for this worthy cause.  Some of the local bloggers who were unable to participate due to other obligations even stopped by to show their support.   A big thank you to everyone who had any part in this exciting day.  I’m proud to be a part of such a caring and generous community.

Our bake sale was held in a great location that was in close proximity to the popular Winter Park Farmers’ Market.  I bet the market regulars didn’t expect to find tables close by filled with so many baked goods on their Saturday market outing…a bonus for them (and for the bake sale)!  Thanks to John Rife and the Winter Park Harvest Festival for the use of this space.

Shown above are my Kettle Corn Toffee Cookies, Chocolate Cherry Coconut Cookies and Double Decker Rice Krispie Pops all set up and ready for customers.

Check out all the yummy treats my fellow food bloggers brought to the bake sale.

Cupcakes from Julie of The Little Kitchen (top two photos) and Pearleen of Mega Yummo (bottom two photos).

Top:  Cake Pops from Wanda of My Sweet Zepol and Cookies from Ricky of Tasty Chomps.  Bottom:   Cupcakes from Jill of Stay Calm, Have a Cupcake  and Cookies from Angie of Eclectic Recipes.

Top:  Red Velvet Donuts from Julius of Droolius, Dream Bars from Chris of Eat Local Orlando and Pinwheel Cookies from Marilyn of Forkful.  Bottom:  Rice Krispie Treats and Granola from Katie of Katie’s Cucina.

These are just a few of the prizes donated for our raffle.  The top two awesome bakeware baskets were from Chicago Metallic, the signed Cake Pops Cookbook and Cake Pops Kit were from sweet Bakerella and the beautiful food basket was from Sunchowder’s Emporia.  Many thanks to these and all other raffle donors.

Robin, this is such a worthy cause and your baked goods look yummy! I like your “logo label” on them — very cool!

I had everything packaged up the night before the bake sale, but I decided I would get up early the next morning to attach the cards/tags since it was so late…talk about cutting it close! Made it out the door just in time!

  3. What a terrific idea! Congratulations on a successful day. I’m still amazed by the cohesiveness of the Central Florida food bloggers. Y’all are awesome!
