Believe it or not, I had never been to Trader Joe’s until just a few weeks ago.  For a long time, I’d heard so much about this store (and enjoyed countless Instagram photos) that I couldn’t wait to check it out for myself.  While in the Carolinas, we decided to drive part of the South Carolina Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway one day (a great drive I might add).  Since I knew the Greenville TJ’s was not far away, I figured this was as good a time as any to make a little side trip.

I could barely contain my excitement when we walked in the door.  Oh my…this is a food lover’s paradise!  I went up and down every aisle a few times.  People probably wondered who this crazy lady was snapping pictures with her iPhone.  I didn’t care…I was having fun.  The prices are so reasonable and the selection of products is amazing.  Let me just say that this is my new favorite store.  I could buy groceries there every week…I know, some of you probably do!

My hubby had to drag me out…he said I was like a kid in a candy store.  Well, truth be told, he was pretty impressed with the place too.  Of course, he got something for his chocolate craving (remember, I call him Mr. C a lot).  He went through the dark chocolate covered raisins so fast that I didn’t even get a picture of them to share…looks like we’ll be buying 2 or 3 containers of them next time.  When I finally went to check out and told the cashier that this was my first time at TJ’s, she rang a big bell and shouted “FIRST TIMER”…now I wish I’d gotten a picture of that!

For some of you, TJ’s might be just around the corner and part of your weekly shopping trip, but I’m no where near one of these fabulous stores.  There is one opening about 2 1/2 hours from me in a few months; so I think my close by food blogging friends and I will just have to schedule a road trip!

Here’s my stash (minus the chocolate covered raisins that Mr. C devoured).

Love this TJ’s promise.  There’s no reason to not trying something new!

Mmmm…look at all these sweet treats!

More sweets and baked goods abound!

These plants, herbs and flowers were right inside the front door.

Thanks for indulging me in my first trip to Trader Joe’s.  If you’ve never been to TJ’s, you need to make a side trip like I did if you ever find yourself close to one.  You’ll be glad you did!

Love, love TJs! Fortunately there is one less than 1 hour from me so we go quite often. And, it’s right around the corner from my husband’s doctor. So, you know where we always go after his appts! Glad you were able to go. If you have never been to Whole Foods in Greenville then you need to go there next time! If you like TJ’s you will love Whole Foods!

If I had one that close, they’d see me a few times a month! There’s a big Whole Foods about 30 minutes from me and I like to have a lot of time to shop around when I go there.

Robin, I was glad you snapped so many photos — I’ve never been to Trader Joe’s either — looks like a great place to shop. I loved that they shouted, “First Timer!” when you checked out, too. :)

That’s the truth. I’d be there every week if there was one close to me! Can’t wait for the next time I get to go.
