Sweet & Crunchy Fall Trail Mix
There’s a lot fall candy around my house right now and we keep buying more to stash away for later. I’ve lost track of how many bags we’ve bought of the White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M’s (my favorite) and the Caramel Candy Corn (Mr. C’s favorite). Doesn’t it make you sad to get a craving for seasonal treats and realize you have to wait another whole year before these goodies are back on the shelf again? After buying one bag of the white chocolate M&M’s at Easter this year, I was so disappointed they were nowhere to be found when I went to buy more. Well, that isn’t going to happen this time…I’ll have enough to last for at least a couple of months, hopefully!
With fall candy in ample supply right now, thoughts of making a trail mix came to mind. There’s so much you can use in a trail mix, but I went with adding the crunch of peanuts and cereal to the candy. The unsalted dry roasted peanuts and the honey sweetness of the cereal is just the perfect combination with the other goodies. Go ahead and mix this up while these treats are still on the shelves. You’re going to find you can’t stay out of this…you may even want to increase the proportions as it won’t last long if you have sweet snack lovers in your house!
