Join me for a trip down memory lane over the last 3 years.

A Look Back at 3 Years of Blogging

It’s hard to believe, but last Thursday was the three year mark for Simply Southern  Baking.  That was fast!  Where did the time go?  Do you feel like that sometimes?  All of a sudden, it’s a year or two or five down the road!  Since I didn’t do anything special to celebrate on the actual day, I decided to take a trip down memory lane over the last three years by putting together these collages.  Pictured above are some of the recipes I’ve created that are on the blog.

Conference fun, food and friends.  It’s always fun to catch up with old friends and meet new ones at conferences.  I look forward to the next one!

I’ve had fun joining in with local food bloggers for bake sales to benefit Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry program.  A side benefit to this is bringing treats home from the other bloggers.  Yum!

It’s been exciting to have my recipes featured on numerous web sites and in Southern Living magazine.  This year, my Orange Creamsicle Rice Krispies Treats were included online in a cake mix roundup at Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Redbook and House Beautiful.  Just last month, my Coconut Cookie Butter Sandwich Cookies were included in a collection of no-bake cookie recipes on Parade and featured as the main picture.

Adventures and travels over the last 3 years – mountains, waterfalls, apple festival, covered bridges, bluegrass, gingerbread competition and a trip to Yoder’s Amish Restaurant Village.  Fun times!

I love meeting my online virtual friends in person.  Earlier this year, I got to meet Christy Jordan from Southern Plate at a local book signing and took photos of the event.  She’s just a doll!  Meeting Francine Bryson from The American Baking Competition and her Team Redneck friends at the Great American Pie Festival was a blast!  We had so much fun.  I can’t wait for Francine’s cookbook to come out next month.

Along the way, I took time to breathe by enjoying sunrises and sunsets in the mountains and at the ocean.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.   What’s your favorite recipe or post I’ve shared over the last three years?  I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Robin, congratulations on 3 years of blogging and also for your recipes being featured in major publications — woohoo! What started out as ‘doing something you enjoy’ turned into doing something you LOVE, and it shows.

My favorite posts are your re-caps of the blogger conventions and places you’ve met other bloggers in ‘real life’ — such fun to meet ‘new’ friends who feel like life-long friends before you even say hello! Your photo collages are wonderful and your thoughts are a pleasure to read, too. Congratulations and best wishes on year 4! xo

Thanks for all your kind words over the last few years Kim. I’ve got another conference coming up soon…so stay tuned for the recap on that one! Hope we get to meet at one someday.

Mmmm, that photo collage got me drooling! What a great three years this blog has had! :)

  3. Congratulations Robin!! You have an amazing blog, and I’m so glad I’ve been able to meet you in person at all our fun blogging adventures. My blog has been a bit quiet this past year or 2, as hubby and I now have our own business we are trying to grow. It definitely had to take a back seat btwn that, homeschooling our 3 girls. My 15 year old is taking an interest in my blog now, and wants to help me with photography and photo editing etc. Looks like I might be able to have a little time for it again since it will be a “family bonding” activity. It can get a little addicting, so I’ve tried to limit my blogging time in general. 😉

Congrats again!! Here’s to another wonderful 3 years.
