A second cookbook by Francine Bryson filled with stick to your ribs recipes!
Do you love down-home country cooking? Well, hold on to your hats y’all! There’s a new cookbook out by my friend Francine Bryson. Her new Country Cooking from a Redneck Kitchen Cookbook has plenty of recipes to satisfy your comfort food cravings.
And….I’m giving away a copy to 3 lucky readers!
In the introduction, Francine says the book is her “lifelong dream round two” and:
“Recipes in the book are the ones that we Southerners go to when company shows up, when there’s a dinner on the ground, or when the preacher is coming to visit. I was taught to make great food that sticks with you and meals that get you through a day of hard work. …. the recipes in this book are Southern through and through, the ones people have been asking me for years to share.”
“get ready for lots of full-belly good-food moans, smiles and compliments.”
Francine speaks my language when it comes to food. I’ll take country cooking over fancy schmancy meals any time….it’s what I grew up on. Her Chicken and Dumplings Like Mama Made recipe brings back memories of my sweet Granny, who made her dumplings the same way. We’re talking flat, rolled and cut dumplings….pure southern comfort food in my book!
You’ll have a hard time deciding what to make first with all the mouthwatering recipes in this 240 page book. I initially started this post out writing about so many of the recipes that my review almost became a book in itself….so, I trimmed it down and decided to let the pictures and recipe names speak for themselves. Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find in this cookbook….get ready to smack your lips!
